ANZMAG 2025
Welcome to the 2025 14th ANZMAG Conference at Tangalooma Resort, Queensland
The Organising Committee is excited to invite you to the 14th biennial conference of the Australia and New Zealand Society for Magnetic Resonance to be held on Sunday 30th November to Thursday 4th of December 2025 at Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia.
This event will consist of workshops, social events, and scientific sessions. As is tradition at ANZMAG meetings, the program will cover a wide range of topics in magnetic resonance, including applications of liquid and solid-state NMR spectroscopy, DNP, MRI/imaging, diffusion, EPR as well as theory and method development.
The Venue
Tangalooma is the Gateway to Moreton Island (Mulgumpin). Just a short ferry trip from Brisbane, Tangalooma Island Resort provides access to the beautiful Moreton Island, home to amazing natural flora and fauna.
Moreton Island is the third largest sand island in the world and located only 40 kilometres north-east of Brisbane. The Island consists entirely of sand, apart from a small area of sandstone and rhyolite at Cape Moreton, which has built up over the past 400,000 years. It is also home to the highest coastal sand dune in the world, Mount Tempest, which at 285 metres provides 360 degrees of breath-taking views. Moreton Island is one of the least polluted and least disturbed coastal environments along the Queensland/New South Wales coast. It is known for its population of wild dolphins that visitors have an opportunity to hand feed as they swim in to the beech each evening.
Nestled on the pristine, golden beaches of Moreton Island, Tangalooma Island Resort offers a wide range of beachfront accommodation to suit every guest. Choose from hotel rooms, units, self-contained villas, and spacious apartments—many with stunning ocean views and all surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and lush national park. ANZMAG offer special rates – we also encourage sharing room and units for maximum affordability. If you are interested in sharing accommodation and are looking for people to share with please contact secretary Vannessa Morris (vanessa.morris@canterbury.ac.nz).
Ferry bookings are done together with the accommodation. As traditionally ANZMAG will start with a plenary session late Sunday afternoon and finish Thursday lunchtime. Suitable ferry to Tangalooma leave Holt street (only 12 min taxi from Brisbane airport)Â at 12.30 pm Sunday 30th Nov. Check in at Holt street is one hour prior (this is like checking in to the hotel – you receive your key and any luggage will be tagged, checked in, and delivered to your room). Suitable return ferry leaves Tangalooma at 2.30 pm on Thursday 4th Dec. Room check out is 10 am and any luggage will be collected from your room and put on your designated ferry. Ferries take ~75 min plus time to disembark and get luggage so if you are booked on the 2.30 pm ferry don’t expect to be able to be at the airport before 4.30 pm.Â
Exclusive availability of all accommodation options has ended – but we have some rooms at discounted rates until October 24 Book now to secure your attendance!
